Frequently asked

Questions we hear most

~

What is Magic Loops?

Magic Loops is an AI-powered custom crochet pattern generator. You describe a crochet idea (or upload a photo) and get a professional, math-accurate pattern in English and Spanish, with a construction schematic, as a downloadable PDF.

How does the AI know crochet math?

Magic Loops uses a curated knowledge base built from Craft Yarn Council standards, PlanetJune, Sarah Maker, and All About Ami. Every generated pattern is validated against 17 accuracy checks before delivery.

Can I sell items I make from Magic Loops patterns?

Yes, the Pro tier includes a commercial-use license — you can sell finished items or resell the pattern. Attribution is appreciated, not required.

How is this different from Ravelry or pattern books?

Ravelry and pattern books offer designs someone else made. Magic Loops generates a NEW pattern for exactly what you described. Custom on-demand versus browsing a static library.

Can I upload a photo of something I want to crochet?

Yes. Free users get one image upload to try. Paid tiers get unlimited image-to-pattern conversions.

What yarn weight should I use?

Patterns specify yarn weight by the Craft Yarn Council's 0–7 scale. Category 4 (worsted) is the most common default. Beginners can't go wrong with worsted plus a 5.0 mm hook.

What languages are supported?

English and Spanish by default (side-by-side PDF). Standard and Pro tiers can also generate French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, or Chinese via a language selector.

Is this good for beginners?

Yes. When generating a pattern, you select your skill level — Beginner, Easy, Intermediate, Experienced. Magic Loops tailors the pattern and abbreviations to your level.

What if the pattern doesn't work?

Every pattern passes a 17-point math validator before delivery. If it passes the validator but still doesn't work for you, contact support for a free regeneration.

How much does it cost per pattern?

Free tier: 1 pattern ever. Pay-as-you-go: $3 per pattern, full features. Standard: $15/month unlimited. Pro: $30/month with commercial license and unlimited image-to-pattern.
